We have successfully mated our lovely ‘coal-face’ Storm to the nephew of our beautiful India, a cracking big lad called Rudi (Kjalarnes Shiva Rudra). We are rather excited about this as it puts India’s line back into our Bavaruki girl. Our Storm is an absolute joy to mate, being initially flirtatious and then standing steady as a rock when she is ready. Many thanks to Theresa Beddis at Kjalarnes for her help with the mating, and to Lucy Crosswell who owns Rudi.

 

We have also successfully mated our Alaska to our own Thunder. She being the other end of the spectrum, prospective males watch out until she is ready, and then don’t hang about for her 2 minute window of opportunity otherwise she will have them for breakfast if they hesitate!!  You cannot help but laugh as she is so bolshy!! Luckily, our Mr Thunder is also Mr Persistent so will not be easily put off!

 

We shall know if we are successful in 3 weeks time with the scan, so fingers crossed as we have many prospective owners waiting for good news!

 

We have been quite busy lately with quite a few visits from people interested in Leos, either just wanting to see Leonbergers in a home environment or looking for a puppy, all getting the “Leo Rush” treatment as all our dogs run into the kitchen to say a rather excited “HELLO” !!!

 

Several of our puppy owners who were not at the last reunion have asked if we could have another one! We would love to, but will have to wait until the new year and better weather. We are limited to the number of people and dogs we can handle at our place at one time, so if you would like to come to the next Leonmoor Reunion please email us and we can begin to organise dates for the next year.

 

Our Thunder & Finland (Finland after mid Jan09) are now available as stud dogs for selective matings. So anybody interested in using our lovely lad for a future mating then please contact us to discuss the breeding lines and suitability. We have added a STUD DOG link to our front page for people to view our handsome chap!

 

Alaska, Thunder & Storm have just had their annual eye tests and have all passed them with no problems.

...and our beautiful Alaska has been mated with our own adorable Thunder … so fingers crossed that one of them takes after all the bad luck so far this year!
