Happy 1st birthday to Alaska’s and Storm’s pups that were born yesterday and today one year ago!!

 

We have had yet more snow, another 6 inches fell two nights ago totally unpredicted, and another 4 inches predicted tonight. Oh goody! Our temperature fell to about

minus 10 deg C last night, the dogs just laying around outside without a care in the world! Amazing coats!

 

Frozen outside hoses for almost 4 weeks now, with two burst pipes, complete nightmare with no fresh running water, having to bucket water to all the drinking troughs.

 

We are doing our bit for the local bird population with sometimes as many 16 birds at once in our garden all eating the dog food!! Blackbirds, Robins, Sparrows, Thrushes, Magpies, and now some crows have turned up! We have noticed the bird poo is an interesting shade of light brown instead of the usual white! The dogs still take no notice of them with the birds becoming bolder and bolder getting as close just a metre away from the dogs while eating.

For many their first Xmas with their new Leo addition, with their buddle of joy patiently

sitting by the turkey as it is carved, full of expectation! LOL!

 

Like many, we have been snowed in for the past week, with every day seeming to bring fresh snow …. One of the disadvantages at living at 900 feet is that our snow is always very deep and plentiful … so we are guaranteed a white Xmas at least!

 

As all Leo owners know these dogs adore the snow. It’s almost as though they have been designed for it, their beautiful black and tan shades of colour lend themselves to look their best in snow, and character wise they are never happier then when running, rolling and playing in the stuff!!
